Vintage Hand-Carved Onyx Ashtray — Quatrefoil Clover, Honey & Cream Banded Stone

Solid stone, hand-carved, one of a kind. This vintage onyx ashtray is cut in a soft quatrefoil — four rounded lobes, each with a rest carved right into the edge. The stone does all the work: bands of honey, amber and rust swirling through creamy white, with a deep polished bowl at the center and a single gold vein running across the underside. Hold it up to a window and the thin edges glow.

Onyx is heavy in the hand in a way that feels expensive, because it is. This one has a little wear and a few small marks from a long life well-lived — that's not damage, that's provenance. No two pieces of banded onyx are ever alike, so what you see in these photos is the exact one you're getting. Sits beautifully on a coffee table, a desk, or a nightstand.
